Fruitland Park was incorporated in 1927 and was first called Gardenia.
Berckman Street, the main street, is named for J.P.
Berckmann of Fruitland Nurseries.
Lake Griffin State Park sits on Lake Griffin inside the city.
Mirror Lake and Crystal Lake go back to the first settlers.
